The Milwaukee Journal "King Holds Antlers High Again" article was published on 2/28/1971 before the Circumpolar Hall was scheduled to open on 5/24/1971.
A clarification about the moose relocation date. I briefly skimmed late-1960s MPM's monthly reports about a decade ago. Everything was moved out of the Library-Museum by the end of July 1969, per September 1969 monthly report.
Timba the Elephant was the last animal to be moved on 6/18/1969. He was too big to be moved through the Central Library doors. He was sawed into 5-6 pieces and The Milwaukee Journal published a photo on 6/19/1969 of his head and trunk, minus the ears, being carted into the Civic Center building.
